Plan With Me: Week 4, Happy Planer Mini

1:37 PM

This week, I needed to get a lot of things done, particularly, I needed to finish my project proposal, which is due on the first of the February and there's still a lot of reading that needs to be done before it gets submitted for approval. On top of that, I've also got an eight page research paper due on the same day as well. With all the things on my plate, I really couldn't spend that much time decorating in my planners that I went with the minimalist option.

For this week, I went and grabbed one of the plain Recollections washi tape and went ahead and decorated the bottom of each day. I didn't have to worry about cutting anything to fit. I've also gone ahead and used the Plan TV and Donut Forget to remind me that on Monday, a new Timeless episode is on and on Wednesday, I need to mail in the proposal. On top of the left page, I used the Believe Princess set to stamp in the sentiment. This came from Sweet Stamp Shop's January Bundle.  On the right page, I used the "Bright Star" set to stamp in the sentiment.

For the images, I used my new Love Cynthia and MommyLhey stamps that I'm absolutely in love with at the moment. As usual, I stamped them on the cheap Target Watercolour paper, embossed, and coloured them in with the Artist Loft Markers. Thankfully, I've already got these images done on Saturday, but didn't have a project in mind. I just needed to do some crafting to relax myself.

What about you? Do you do a minimalist page on your on-the-go planner?

Plan With Me: Week 2 in the Mini and Classic Happy Planners

9:58 AM

Happy Sunday!

Can you believe that the first week of 2017 has already gone by? It's going way too fast for me since I'm running out of time to get in my Project Proposal for my dissertation which needs to in the post in two weeks as it is due by the first of February. Yikes!

It's been storming here in Northern California for the last two days. I love the cold wet rain of autumn, winter, and early spring seasons. As I type out this blog post, I'm sitting at my desk looking out into my backyard and watching the raindrops splatter on the windowpane. I'm slightly worried that the deluge might just overflow our swimming pool. Enough said about the storm that's drenching Northern California at the moment and on to the post of the day: Week 2 Layouts.

As you've read in my previous posts, I work with two planners. One to haul around in my bag whilst the other stays at my desk right next to my research materials and my trusty MacBook Pro.

In my Mini Happy Planner, I decided to go with a green theme, using the Big Dill stamp and die set from the Sweet Stamp Shop for the embellishements. I went with this theme since it's the start of the term and I've got a lot of things to do and prepare for. I've also used a couple of stamps from Kelly Purkey and MommyLhey

The layout is also a departure from logging all the miles I've completed daily and the detox plan. That didn't quite work out as we're still working through some of the sweets we've gotten over the holidays, particularly the big tin of Walkers Shortbread Cookies and the tub of Maltesers, all of which were purchased at the big box store Costco. It's not often Costco carried some of your childhood favorites, so into the trolley it went. I'll do the detox next month.

In the Classic Happy Planner, I've used a variety of stamp sets that ranged from the Sweet Stamp Shop, Studio L2E, Lawn Fawn and Kelly Purkey. However, the bulk of my stamp comes from the Sweet Stamp Shop. I think it might be safe to say I've got a bit of an obsession with their stamps.

For this week's theme in the Classic Happy Planner, I went with the coffee theme. For any post-graduate student working on a 45 page dissertation, caffeniated beverages are a must. Since I'm cutting on my coffee intake as I've consumed lots over the holidays and we can blame that on the seasonal coffee creamer flavours, I'm going back to consuming my absolute favourite drink .... tea.

In this planner, you can see the weekend flags weren't stamped quite as well and I tried to mask it by colouring in the letters. It was the first time I used chalk ink and I don't fancy it. the VersaMagic Chalk Ink doesn't stamp quite as clean as the Memento Fade-Resistant Fast Drying Ink. I also found that the brown and red colours left a red stain on my clear photopolymer stamps. Could it be I just need a little more practise?

I've also used some brown washi tape and some scrapbook paper scraps to embellish some of the boxes. I'm not a big fan of negative space when I'm decorating my memory keeping planner. Actually, I don't like a lot of negative spaces in both planners that I manage to use every bit of the space provided.

What about you? What kind of layout do you have for this week? Do you have any favourite stamps and what are your thoughts about chalk ink. Let me know in the comment section below!

Happy New Year, Happy Planner, Week 1

9:26 AM

Happy New Year! I can't believe 2016 has come and gone and 2017 is here. I guess it's time to set up some goals.

I've been quite absent from the blogging scene most of last year, but this year, I'm going to definitely blog more. I might even start a YouTube channel.

Now that we're into the first week of 2017, I know that many of you have your planners already set up for the year and have decorated the week as well. Since I'm working with two planners, an on-the-go and a desk bound one, the only planner that I've some embellishments on is the Mini Happy Planner.

In this planner, I decided to do a black and white theme. I haven't really had the chance to do this layout since I didn't have any stamps that coordinated well with my three black washi tapes. After I purchased the Pho You stamp and die set from the Sweet Stamp Shop during their Black Friday sale, I finally had the opportunity to create a black and white theme.

Since it's the New Year, I wanted to add my detox goals into my on-the-go planner. I've eaten quite unhealthily this past month despite being a vegetarian. All the sweets that came round during the holidays managed to make it to my plate, whether it was a dessert after dinner or a snack. I'd eat the chocolate covered cookies with a cup of tea here and a cup of tea there. Plus, there's coffee! My severe migraine attacks during the last week were the cause of my large consumption of coffee accompanied with a sugary creamer. Thus, with the amount of sugar I've consumed, the detox plan needed to be incorporated into my planner.

In the Classic Happy Planner, which I planned on leaving on my desk, I've done quite a bit of decorating. It might seem empty, but I haven't pencilled in my schedule. Can we say #beforethepen?

I've also kept up with the same black and white theme, using bits of scrapbook paper that was left over from making envelopes. I've added the Heartbreaker Set as well as the Gym set from the Sweet Stamp Shop. The other embellishments include Create 365's Happy Planner Washi and stickers from Simple Stories.

What about you? How you incorporating your goals into your planner and what kind of layout did you go for? Leave a comment in the box below!
